Sales Director Iberia + Telefonica GAM (RAN / OSS Product & Services)

We have been exclusively engaged to headhunt for a Sales Director role for Iberia which includes Telefonica Global Account Management. My client is urgently looking to fill the position.
My client is one of the leading companies in the RAN performance space and have a considerable software product business (performance management, planning and with new products coming through) and a strong services division (this role covers both aspects). The client is around a 135 million USD company with it's HQ in the UK. The client are looking for someone based in Spain - ideally Madrid. If an extremely strong candidate comes up in Portugal this could also be considered.
The client is well positioned with agreements and business with Telefonica in various opcos in Europe and also Latin America - so the role is to handle relationships with Telefonica at group level as well as sell to the regional operators within Spain and Portugal. The client has new owners that are heavily investing in their product line up and the company now has some excellent momentum.
They are urgently looking to find a Sales Director with a strong sales track record in the region who is capable of working remotely and can grow these accounts and really hunt for new business opportunity. Ideally the person would be from the OSS or RAN space although that is not mandetory. Experience of selling software products would be ideal although again someone with a strong services background and a knowledge of the space would be a really good match as well.

Role Description
The Sales Director for Iberia / Key Account Director Telefonica is a crucial member of the European Sales Team that is tasked with:
1) Driving sales results and profitability, in line with budgetary expectations, across the region by developing our significant existing accounts and building new ones.
2) Lead my client’s global account initiatives with Telefonica by ensuring my client is strategically aligned to exploit growth opportunities within these accounts.
This role will hold the relationship between my client and it's considerable customer base.
You will develop a sound understanding of my client’s capabilities and be able to quickly appreciate our customers’ key challenges over the short, medium and long term developing appropriate sales strategies to maximise our sales opportunities.
You will have a proven track record with these markets and accounts and will have experience of working within a matrixed structure and will have a proven ability of developing strong internal relationships that ensure that the company is customer aligned.
You will thrive under your own initiative, further developing strong relationships and establishing new ones. You will motivate yourself and measure your performance through an achievable financial target. Your customer base will expect you to know their business – frequent travel to them will form a large part of your work.
Specific Requirements
Proven account management skills and relationship sets across the customers in the region and within Telefonica. Excellent sales track record with the targeted customer bases selling either services or software
Proven key account management track record with Telefonica with a deep experience of developing pragmatic sales strategies which have translated to significant growth
Strong team player and internal collaborator that has the proven influencing skills to develop and execute upon the key account plans with virtual team members across the globe and across functional boundaries
Self-starter that is able to work with minimum supervision
Energetic and hungry for success
Discipline sales management skills including pipeline management, forecasting and reporting
Degree educated (or equivalent) with a sound understanding of Mobile Telecommunications networks
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel freely throughout Europe
