Software Delivery Project Manager

My Client is looking for a Software Delivery Project Manager to be based in London, UK, responsible for project management of the delivery of software development projects, from client’s developers in South Africa and India, and third party software from external suppliers into customer projects.The person will also be responsible for growing and building test platforms and lab environment. This role will suit an inquisitive technical person who likes to understand how things work and is not afraid to ask questions. Someone with an analytical mind and structured way of working will find this position very rewarding.

Primary Duties
1. Create and execute project work plans for software delivery from internal sites and
external suppliers and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and
requirements of software required for customer deliveries.
2. Identifies resources needed and works with Hd Engineering and Hd Product
Management to assign individual responsibilities.
3. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
4. Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to Product Management or
the customer.
5. Minimizes our exposure and risk on projects.
6. Responsible for staying abreast of product roadmap as well as understanding the
scenarios, features and functions within each of the products and how these are
applied to address business and technical problems. This involves running and
tracking development for delivery to customer projects on an on-going basis.
7. Responsible for understanding business and technical problems addressed by the
products, and the effect of delivery timelines.
9. Ensure adherence to the Company Procedures and other procedures that may be
issued during the course of employment
10. Any other duties deemed necessary to meet corporate objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
1. 3 Years background of Software Engineering in a GSM mobile telecom network
environment with an excellent understanding of development framework and have
experience of various development methodologies. Must be able to talk deep technical
issues with developers to question and validate delivery estimates.
2. Bachelors Degree or equivalent in relevant subject.
3. Current software delivery project management experience, at least 1-2 years experience
in software project management.
4. Experience of using project planning software.
5. Able to communicate technical and business information to widely varied audiences.
6. Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills.
7. Strong analytical skills.
8. Ability to develop a broad awareness of the products technical architecture and
emerging technologies with enough knowledge to determine what is and what is not
possible.

Desirable:
1. Experience in mobile value added services e.g. voicemail, SMS, USSD, etc.
2. Experience of mobile networks systems and business including roaming, pre & post pay billing, MNP, etc.
